World Braille Day

To mark the birthday of Louis Braille, the inventor of Braille script, January 4 th is observed as World Braille day. The BSc(CS) & BBA(CA) department organized a guest session to raise awareness on the issues impacting those who are blind or visually impaired within our society and to promote inclusivity. 

The speakers, Ms. Nisha Prakash Khare, Sales Tax Officer at Pune and Mr. Faiyyaz Attar, Technical Head & Consultant at Manobal, Pune; shared their emotional childhood experiences which made them even stronger to face the challenges of the world. They mentioned the difficulties faced by visually impaired and various ways in which the use of technology could provide them support in everyday life. On 6 th January 2021 at 1.30 pm fifteen participants showcased the collage on various facilities for the blind in an online meet. The session was attended by Shankar Bhoite, a BCom student, who shared his personal experiences and hardships.
