The first year students were welcomed on 18th September 2020 into the MMCC family and provided with information on the conduction of online classes and online resources in the times of social distancing. Dr. Anpat S M, HOD inspired and motivated the first year students with his guidance and encouragement. Our Principal, Dr. Devidas Golhar addressed the first year students and advised them to make use of technology in the pandemic period not only for leisure and entertainment but for constructive knowledge building. He made the students aware of the motto, vision and mission of college for the benefit of stakeholders. He mentioned the best practices and ideology of the college in undertaking various curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that benefit the students in winning laurels and accolades in every walk of life. He also briefed the students about the infrastructure and canteen facilities and mentioned that the real wealth lay in the efforts and excellence of the students. Finally he discussed “Why were the students at MMCC ?”; to which the students gave varied responses. From student centric culture & welfare schemes, location, teachers, environment etc. The students on their part, were very impressed with the dynamic and genuine talk by the principal. Mrs. Dhanashree Ghare, Student Counsellor motivated the first year students on healthy life and living through her topic on “Resilience Building - Bouncing Back” on 6th October 2020. Her suggestions on good habits, healthy eating and regular exercising were well received by students who showed eagerness to be able to get back to their regular activities. Mr. Atul Kahate, Author & Visiting Faculty, Computer Science; oriented the first year students on “IT Career Opportunities” foretelling the latest IT developments and future avenues on 13th & 14th October 2020. The students were geared towards introspecting their interests for various IT opportunities as realized due to the need brought on by social distancing. Along with these management and technical guest sessions, the students have received information about various college activities and departments through online Google Meet. Prof. Sushil Gangane shared information on the National Service Scheme and the activities that were carried out including the one at Ambi village last year. Dr. M R Gaikwad, Director of Physical Education shared sports related information with the students so as to prepare them for group and individual events. Mrs. Harshala Wadkar, Administrative Office of the college organized a session for sharing information on Scholarship Schemes for all students of the two courses.
