Workshop on Consumer Awareness and Financial Literacy

Report on Workshop organized by Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s College of Commerce in collaboration with Consumer Guidance Society of India

Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s College of Commerce in collaboration with Consumer Guidance Society of India organized a workshop on “Consumer Awareness and Financial Literacy” on 9th July,2019 for faculty members and students from B.Com, BBA, BBA(IB) and BBA(CA).

Mr. Manoj Pawar Assistant Manager (Maharashtra Consumer Helpline) from Consumer Guidance Society of India covered the following points in the workshop:

  • Awareness related to various authorities and agencies involved in consumer protection
  • Procedure to file a complaint in consumer forums
  • Procedure involved in filing complaints through Consumer Guidance Society of India

 

Mr. Mayur Shah a Certified Financial Planner guided on “Financial Literacy.” He guided students with steps to live financially stress free life for their future. Session on financial literacy covered the following points:

 

  • What is inflation?
  • Safe investment options
  • Direct Shares/Equity
  • Mutual Funds – Its advantages etc.

 

Workshop was conducted under the guidance of Incharge Principal S.M. Edke and head of department Dr. S.S. Pokharna.

Dr. Shilpa Kabra introduced the guests and contents of the workshop and Dr. Ashwini Parkhi proposed vote of thanks.
